U.S. Virgin Islands Notary Requirements and Information
U.S. Virgin Islands Notary Commission Qualifications
Notary applicants must:
• be at least 21 years old;
• be a citizen of the United States;
• be a resident of the U.S. Virgin Islands for at least 5 years from the date applying;
• continue to reside within the Virgin Islands during the term of office;
• be a high school graduate or have passed the high school equivalency test;
• not have been convicted of any crime either within or outside of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

$5,000 Bond Required (4-yr. term)
Notary Recordbook (Journal) Requirement
Recordbook required.
Notary Seal Requirement
Embossing seal required, paper notarial acts. Ink stamp may be used ONLY in conjunction with embossing seal. Ink stamp must contain blue ink.
Authorized Duties
• Take acknowledgments and proofs;
• administer oaths and affirmations;
• and perform such other acts as may be authorized by law.
