Notary applicants must:
be at least 18 years old;
be a resident of Kansas or a resident of a bordering state that is regularly employed in Kansas.

Effective January 1, 2022 all Kansas notaries are required to maintain a notary journal (recordbook).

Ink stamp or embossing seal required, paper notarial acts. Must be photographically reproducible.
Electronic notarial seal required/specified, electronic notarial acts.
Authorized Duties
Oaths/affirmations;
verification upon oath/affirmation;
acknowledgments and proofs;
witness or attest signatures;
certify or attest copies;
note protests.
